Meta and social connections

Connect WhatsApp Business, Facebook Pages, Instagram Business, TikTok Creator and Meta Ads, and understand provider-dependent availability.

· OpenbirdAI documentation

Meta-family connections in OpenbirdAI cover messaging, pages, professional accounts, short-form video and advertising. Each provider runs its own authorisation with its own review requirements, so availability and latency differ per provider.

This guide describes a capability that depends on the connected provider, the permissions granted to it, and your current plan. If the provider cannot supply the required data, OpenbirdAI reports it as unavailable rather than estimating.

Supported social and messaging connections

  • WhatsApp Business — Meta Business Suite authorisation for business messaging context.
  • Facebook Pages — page-level content and engagement context.
  • Instagram Business — professional account content and insights.
  • Meta Ads — authorised advertising performance data.
  • TikTok Creator — creator account content and video context.
  • Discord and Slack — community and team communication context.
Meta-platform connections can require business verification or app review. If a connection cannot be authorised, the provider — not OpenbirdAI — is the deciding party.

Connecting safely

  1. Use the business or professional account, not a personal profile.
  2. Confirm which workspace should own the connection.
  3. Approve only the permissions your team policy allows.
  4. Verify with a read-only question before planning any publishing workflow.

Provider-dependent availability

  • Availability, rate limits and review requirements are set by the provider and can change without notice.
  • Some social data is only available through official APIs; OpenbirdAI does not scrape platforms.
  • A connection can be healthy while a specific capability inside it is unavailable.

Handling social data responsibly

Social data often contains other people's messages and personal information. Ask only for what your task requires, avoid bulk extraction, and follow the retention rules in your own organisation before storing results.

Never treat a generated caption or posting plan as a published post. Publication requires an explicit, confirmed action.

Handling rate limits and review delays

Social and messaging APIs are the most heavily throttled category. A connection can be perfectly healthy and still refuse a burst of requests. Treat provider rate limiting as a normal condition: reduce frequency, narrow the question, and retry after a pause.

  • Space requests rather than retrying in a tight loop.
  • Ask for aggregates over a period instead of many individual items.
  • Expect a delay after a new connection while provider-side review completes.

Common questions

Why can I not authorise a Meta connection?

Meta may require business verification, app review, or an admin role on the business account. OpenbirdAI cannot bypass provider requirements.

Can OpenbirdAI publish to these platforms for me?

Not automatically. OpenbirdAI can prepare content; any publication is a separate action you must confirm.
