Connect Google services

Use the unified Google connection in OpenbirdAI — Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, YouTube, Analytics and Ads — and check per-service availability.

· OpenbirdAI documentation

Google is a single unified authorisation in OpenbirdAI. One consent screen grants access to a defined set of Google services, and each service can then be used by OpenFeather for questions that need it. Connecting Gmail does not, by itself, answer questions about Calendar.

This guide describes a capability that depends on the connected provider, the permissions granted to it, and your current plan. If the provider cannot supply the required data, OpenbirdAI reports it as unavailable rather than estimating.

Services in the Google connection

The Google integration exposes these services under one authorisation:

  • Gmail — search, read and summarise authorised messages.
  • Google Drive — find and read files you can access.
  • Google Docs and Google Sheets — read document and spreadsheet content.
  • Google Calendar — read events and scheduling context.
  • YouTube — channel and video context where the account owns it.
  • Google Analytics 4 — authorised site traffic and engagement data.
  • Google Ads — authorised campaign performance data.
Service availability depends on the account you authorise. A personal account without Analytics access will not produce Analytics answers, and the connection will simply not expose that service.

How to connect

  1. Open the integrations area and choose Google services.
  2. Sign in to the Google account that owns the data.
  3. Review the permission screen. Decline if the requested scopes exceed your policy.
  4. Approve and return to OpenbirdAI; confirm the connected account label.
  5. Test one service with a narrow question before relying on the others.

Asking about Google data

text
"Summarise the important Gmail threads from the last 7 days"
"Which Drive files about the Q3 launch changed this week?"
"What is on my calendar for Thursday?"
"Compare this month's Analytics traffic with last month"

Name the service when a term could refer to more than one — "calendar" and "Smart Calendar" are different things, and "docs" could mean Google Docs or your OpenbirdAI documentation.

If a Google answer is empty

  • The account connected is not the account that owns the data.
  • The Drive file is shared but not owned by the connected account.
  • The Analytics property is not accessible to the connected account.
  • The date range excludes the period you meant.
  • The Ads account is managed under a different MCC the connected user cannot see.
OpenFeather does not bypass Google sharing rules. A file you cannot open in Google is a file OpenFeather cannot read.

Common questions

Which Google services can I actually use?

Whichever services appear under your connected Google account in the integrations area, and which your question actually needs.

Can OpenFeather send email from my Gmail?

No. The Google connection is read-oriented. Drafting happens in OpenbirdAI for you to review and send yourself.
